Position Responsibilities

This list all positions on the board including ones not currently up for election.

All Directors

Responsibilities:

  • Council and General Meetings of the Society.
  • Executives and Constituency Directors to sit on at least two (2) Society committees, and Directors-At-Large on a least one (1) Society committee.
    Committees: Campaigns, Events, Finance, Personnel.
  • Act honestly and in good faith with a view to the best interests of the Society;
  • Exercise the care, diligence and skill that a reasonably prudent individual would exercise in comparable circumstances;
  • Act in accordance with this Act and the regulations; and
  • Act in accordance with the bylaws.
  • Relay all relevant CCSS information to all respective CCSS constituents.
  • Submit regular written reports, in compliance with Bylaws Part 10.

External Executive

Responsibilities:

Remuneration:

  • $18.85/hour + 4% vac. pay for up to 30 hours per week. Subject to adjustment by the Board of Directors.

International Director

Responsibilities:

Remuneration:

  • $18.85/hour + 4% vac. pay for up to 10 hours per week. Subject to adjustment by the Board of Directors.

Directors-At-Large: Interurban Director (3), Lansdowne Director (3)

Responsibilities:

Remuneration:

  • $35/bi-weekly meeting + $20/committee meeting. Subject to adjustment by the Board of Directors.

May 11, 2026 Appointment Nomination Form

During the Nomination Period (April 30rd 9am – May 6th 4pm), prospective candidates must register their candidacy and student nominations using the web form below. Candidates are required to collect the names and student numbers of five CCSS members (Camosun students) who wish to nominate their candidacy.

Candidate Eligibility

As per CCSS bylaws:

  • Nominees for any position on the Council must be regular members of the Society, at least sixteen (16) years of age, and in good standing.
  • All candidates in an election must have been nominated by not less than five (5) current members of the Society.
  • A member of the Society may not hold more than one (1) position on the Council at any time, with the exception of College governance positions.
  • Nominees for Campus Director positions must be members enrolled in at least one (1) course at the College campus from which they seek election.

Candidates must be a regular members in good standing:

  • A person who is enrolled in at least one (1) course at the college shall be a regular member of the Society.
  • Only regular members are eligible to vote and hold elected office.
  • Regular membership in the Society shall be active during the enrolled semester, and continue four (4) months past the end of the semester.
