The British Columbia Federation of Students (BCFS)

All students at Camosun College are members of the British Columbia Federation of Students; a democratic Provincial organization that is comprised of several student unions across British Columbia. The CCSS has a representative on the BCFS executive committee.
We also participate in the development of policies, campaigns, and services by sending elected Camosun students to bi-annual BCFS meetings.

The British Columbia Federation of Students works much like a co-operative to provide products and services at a better price.  BCFS is also a lobbying agent to influence government policy changes that affect students directly.  Government historically has provided a majority of funding for post-secondary education, so having an organization that can get the ear of the government is important.

Camosun Students voted to join the British Columbia Federation of Students in a referendum held in 1991.
