Indigenous Student Association
Please note that this collective was renamed from the First Nations Student Association in April 2022
The Indigenous Student Association (ISA) is run by and for Indigenous students at Camosun College. ISA was formed to address the specific concerns of Indigenous students, and to provide a comfortable place for students to go. ISA’s mandate is to meet the social, cultural, and recreational needs of Indigenous students.
The ISA Gathering Place is located on Lansdowne campus in Young Building 314. It is a nice environment for indigenous students to get to know each other. Held within the lounge is a microwave, coffee machine, tea kettle, and fridge. Students gather here to talk, to eat, to share information with each other, and even to do homework!
The ISA also partners with the UVic Native Students Union, the Victoria Native Friendship Centre (VNFC) and the Songhees Employment Learning Centre to coordinate Elders’ Dinners on a regular basis. For further information with dates and times, please check the notice board outside the Eyēʔ Sqȃ’lewen office.
